Game Maker Television
Game Maker TV merges into GMking
Posted on: Jul 24, 2008 by Dan Eggers

Starting today, Game Maker TV (GMTV) will be joining the GMking Network of sites and services. The name “Gamemaker TV” will be kept, and I “Danny” Eggers will continue to act as the Executive Editor still the owner of the popular Game Make video podcast.
As part of the agreement, GMking will provide resources and services to GMTV necessary to continue and improve upon our core goal; providing high quality, information-rich, audio-visual media to the Game Maker community. Additionally, some of the writers from the popular MarkUp Magazine, also produced by GMking, will be assisting in the writing and production of future GMTV episodes. GMTV will complement and expand GMkings services to the Game Maker community as well, making this a relationship that is truly beneficial to both sides.
Robin Monks, who represented GMking for the negations for this merger stated, “I think this will benefit the entire Game Maker community. By uniting forces, the newly expanded GMking Network will be able to produce even more content tailored to the Game Maker community.”

GMking is a thriving community of volunteers who produce content for indie game developers and users. GMking has served the game development community since 2004; and continues to produce relevant, quality material to educate and inform.

We hope the merge will help make GMTV much better than we could have achieved alone!

Welcome to the new website
Posted on: Jul 14, 2008 by Revel

We have decided to release the website earlier then episode 4 because we are having some more delays, and we thought you would like to know whats going on and of course see the brand new site! We are working on completing Episode 4 aswell as building a whole new administration panel "backstage". Please bare with us as we work on fixing bugs, finishing up the site and of course Episode 4.

Database Problem
Posted on: May 4, 2008 by Revel

Danny, by accident deleted our database today and we have been struggling to get it back. And due to the fact we did not back up the databases all comments for episode 3 are now gone. Episode 3 was temporarily gone but is now back up. Also all news articles before we got our new host are gone as well. If you find any bugs let us know by using our HelpDesk under the support tab. We apologize for any problems this has caused you.

New Host
Posted on: Mar 9, 2008 by Revel

Gamemaker TV is currently undergoing some changes. We are switching to a new faster, more reliable and more functional host. With the new host, we will be able to add new features to the site. The loading time for videos and pages should be faster aswell. Each staff member will eventually have their own email address aswell. You may see some errors on the website for a period of time as we do some finalizing with the set-up.

Major Website Update
Posted on: Mar 8, 2008 by Revel

We have cleaned up the Episode and Other Video page, and added some features. Instead of being bombarded with links, there is a "Watch now" and a "Download" button. After selecting an option is when you can select what quality you would like to see/download.
We have added some other features aswell. We added a better thumbnail feature. You can now flip through some thumbnails of the Episode/Video by using some buttons under the image. We have also added a bookmark feature, and an embed feature. You can now embed our episodes/video on myspace, or anywhere that accepts html.

We have also added a "Send to a Friend" feature. Because of some mail issues with our host, the sending feature is extremely basic and not very functional. We will be updating this in the future.

And finally, we have added some good looks to the pop-up pages rather than the solid white background that was previously there.
Please submit any bugs via the Helpdesk
.

Browse News
Posted on: Jan 9, 2008 by Revel

You can now browse older news articles on the home page. Look for bold text at the bottom of this article saying "Click an arrow to switch news articles". The Left goes to newer articles and the right goes to older ones. If you are at the latest article, and you press to go to a newer one, it will direct you to the oldest one. The same goes if you are at the earliest article, etc. The article system features AJAX, so you do not have to load any new pages, but it could take a moment to retrieve the next article. Hope you enjoy!
